A LITTLE BIG HOME

Gariselli Associati as Designers

How to make great a small business almost sewed to the ground, bound by a thousand urban constraints, by the laces and the straps imposed by the presence, once cumbersome, of the neighbors who live a few meters away?

Only 110 square meters in plan, un imperative: to find the right size and the indispensable privacy, a fundamental condition for living at home. Already from the entrance gate you can sense the personality of this house that comes back to new life: the stone, the metal and the fixtures with absolutely essential lines, give the sense of a stylistic rigor that we will find inside; just some simple and aggressive element that denotes a tastefully conducted research. The external paving is in columbine stone with a Carrara marble border; the elevations, almost entered into a chart, are characterized by long and narrow openings, on the side closest to the directions; real loopholes, imperceptible scratches through which you pass so much light but not introspection, unique incisions in the wall that learn from the ground floor to get to the attic. On the contrary, large openings on the opposite side that overlook the green profiles of the Reggio Apennines.
