The forest call "Los Colomos" its a little green lung in the city of Guadalajara in México, a place where the forest life has not been cared for or respected. According to the world healt organization (WHO) to ensure a minimum health in the population you need one tree for every 3 inhabitants. that is to say, in Mexico for every family ther most be at leats 2.5 trees, unfortunately in the metropolitan area, beyond diferent data available un the internet, although there are green areas, there is a large majority of spaces where vegetation is scarce. The natural way of construction for many years, for the sake of greater area, was to tear down existing trees on a plot to build there, this can be perceived in the immediate context of the residence where, despite the fact that most of the houses were built at the time, there is not one that has respected the existing flora, a residential area that because its annexed to a forest certainly was once full of trees, this is way this house, build and design by architecht Servando Bojórquez in the Year 1999, is interesting because the house was projected around two centuries old trees on the west side of the land.
According to the way of projecting, and to the client's taste, it was decided to use materials and techniques of the region, as well as an aestethic that reflected the city, with certain modern elements, remembering Mexican architecture and the school of Guadalajara. The house welcomes you with a wooden door that when opened opens up the visual with Mexican elements that once you enter it directs you to the main lobby in wich the home leads its dependencies. Each of the areas points towards a landscaped area and tree-lined in which is the centenary trees around which the house was projected as it was mentioned before.
In the main lobby the staircase is perceived by means of which it is connected to the upper floor and the family area. Next to the stairs the main distributor is presented, which serves as a connection element between dependencies, it is so that around it there is the Living Room, the Dining Room and the Kitchen, all pointing to the exterior garden. Chromatically, the house is painted white using colored finials in certain elements such as blacksmithing, niches, and columns.
With the use fo color and middle point arches the spaces gets divided achieving a sensory sensitization of spatial difference. The light turns out to be essencial, with windows covering the entire double height, and skydomes above the stairs, the light makes way around the house allowing , also, a cross ventilation that causes a feeling of warmth at all times of the year. Interiors and exteriors both have the intention of expressing an emotional and warm architecture that allows the user to feel calm in the metropolis isolating it from the city chaos.
