Located on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, this villa renovation transforms an existing beachfront property into a contemporary family residence shaped by light, water, privacy, and a precise black-and-white architectural language.
The project begins with a new arrival sequence. Tall white architectural volumes frame a recessed black entrance wall, where the main door is concealed within vertical dark cladding. Rounded exterior corners soften the façade and introduce a sculptural detail that continues inside the home. The entrance courtyard was planned with pale paving, shaped planting beds, white gravel, dark mulch, mature trees, low shrubs, and slim black landscape lighting, creating a clear transition from the street to the private interior.
At the rear of the villa, the renovation opens the house toward the Palm Jumeirah waterfront. Full-height black-framed glazing connects the main living spaces with the pool terrace, raised spa, timber-look deck, sun loungers, and sea view. The exterior design remains minimal, allowing the water, sky, and white villa geometry to define the setting.
Inside, the ground floor is treated as one open living sequence. White marble flooring runs through the lounge, dining area, kitchen, piano zone, and entrance hall, giving the interior a continuous base. Dark joinery, black ribbed wall panels, graphite kitchen cabinetry, black stone, soft beige upholstery, warm curtains, and selected rust and mustard accents build contrast without visual excess.
The main living room is arranged for both family use and entertaining. Pale modular sofas, rounded lounge chairs, dark coffee tables, textured accessories, and a large rug define the seating area. The TV wall combines black vertical paneling with a white marble feature slab, a long black stone ledge, and illuminated display shelving. This composition gives the room a clear focal point while connecting the interior palette to the dark entrance and kitchen.
Near the waterfront glazing, a transparent grand piano becomes a light sculptural object. Its acrylic body preserves the visual connection to the sea and pool, while adding a personal music area within the open-plan living space.
The dining area continues the contrast between dark and light surfaces. A black marble dining table is paired with curved upholstered chairs, sculptural pendant lights, and a white vertically paneled wall. The dining room sits directly beside the kitchen, supporting daily meals, formal hosting, and easy service.
The kitchen is designed as a dark architectural volume within the bright ground floor. Full-height matte cabinetry conceals storage and integrated appliances, while the large island includes a dark stone worktop, induction hob, ribbed glass fronts, and a slim linear pendant. Warm backlit shelves add depth to the graphite palette and give the kitchen a more layered appearance.
The custom staircase forms one of the main interior gestures. White rounded side panels follow the rhythm of the steps, paired with dark treads, vertical wall paneling, warm ceiling lighting, and marble flooring. The staircase links the exterior’s rounded geometry with the interior design language, turning circulation into an architectural feature.
The renovation brings together facade design, landscape, poolside planning, interior architecture, custom joinery, lighting, furniture, and material coordination.
