Primary school

Primary school in 1 layer in wooden construction
Based on social and technical needs, many primary schools will be improved and replaced in the coming years. Many of those primary schools are single-storey and will remain so in the new construction option. From the vision of the B-group “Together. Building. Consciously.” we are closely involved in buildings with a social context. We also do this from a conscious vision where, in addition to a financially feasible building, we also build biobased, mainly in wood.

Circular Timber Construction for schools
Wood in schools contributes to improving the learning performance of students and creating a better working environment for teachers and staff. In addition, timber construction can be prefabricated, which means it can be built quickly and adapted to the changing needs of a school. Due to the characteristics of wood, it can be designed and engineered completely circularly so that it can be easily dismantled.

Integrating nature-inclusively
The building can also be integrated into the environment in such a way that nature becomes the starting point and the roof, for example, becomes part of the “playground”. This creates a more natural environment and can also make room for plants and animals.

Timber construction adaptable to educational vision
In the Netherlands there are many educational visions with specific wishes regarding the use of spaces. The attached plan presents a vision in which we assume a central space surrounded by rooms where lessons can be given. These classrooms can then be linked together again. This creates a building with flexible layout options and options for organizational splits and adjustments over time.
