Residenza B05 is an interior architecture project in which colour is used as a design tool
and as a spatial organizing principle. The layout is structured around a central corridor,
from which the rooms unfold through a sequence of thresholds and visual transitions thatdefine functions without relying on rigid partitions. The corridor, conceived as the connective spine of the apartment, becomes an inhabitable space in its own right. A large custom-built wardrobe integrates the laundry area, while a burgundy ceiling and softly rounded corners guide movement and ease circulation, transforming a passageway into a lived-in environment.

The living area is conceived as an open-plan space combining living room and kitchen, organized through chromatic fields. Access is marked by a portal that introduces a unified space, followed by a second threshold between living and kitchen. It’s a bespoke sliding glass partition featuring graphic arches. This element recalls a Parisian architectural imagery reinterpreted in a contemporary way, responding to the clients’ wish to reconnect, within their Milanese home, with memories of their time living in Paris. A further threshold is defined by a door integrated into the corridor cabinetry, discreetly separating the living area from the private spaces. The project is based on a carefully constructed chromatic composition, articulated through approximately fifteen interrelated tones. In the living area, a peach-coloured ceiling accompanies the space and leads into the kitchen, characterized by the strong presence of sage-green Fenix surfaces contrasted with a deep violet.

A mosaic floor, designed as a pixelated pattern in violet, petrol blue, honey and pink, engages in dialogue with the natural oak herringbone parquet, balancing decorative intensity and material continuity. All elements are conceived as bespoke, glazing, flooring, built-in furniture and finishes contribute to a coherent system of geometries and proportions. In the private areas, colours become denser and more controlled, extending into the bathrooms where deep greens, soft pinks and terrazzo surfaces are combined. In Residenza B05, colour becomes an invisible architecture, a silent structure that organizes space and defines its identity.
