After acquiring this land near the Arcachon basin in the town of Taussat in Gironde, this couple with children wants to make their dream come true and settle their family there to lead a more peaceful life, close to their friends and nature. Settling there, yes, but in a house that looks like them. A tailor-made house capable of responding to their daily lifestyle.
In architectural terms, the house had to offer generous volumes and benefit from contemporary finishes while retaining the basin spirit. The layout of the interior and exterior spaces had to be thought out in order to offer a very convivial space, open to others, benefiting from a large kitchen, a natural swimming pool to remain in the spirit of the place, and to be able to welcome friends for an evening or a weekend while allowing everyone to feel independent and at ease. Literally a house of friends!
In order to preserve architectural harmony and the spirit of the house, the idea was therefore to naturally dissociate the family space built in R+1 from the "friends" space intended to welcome the guests. The living room, a place of conviviality and sharing, will serve as a link between these two spaces. The part reserved for friends has been designed in such a way as to offer an indoor and outdoor relaxation area, a "friends' bar" with courtyard and integrated table in the style of the pool, and equipped with beds for children.
The house in R+1 is deliberately oriented towards the natural swimming pool in order to offer real comfort both visually and in daily use. The basin spirit is materialized by the realization of a white wooden cladding posed in the spirit of the oyster huts typical of the region.
