This childless couple acquires their first house to found their future family. It is a terraced house on one side located on a pretty plot of 500m² in a quiet area with a small village spirit. The stone house benefits from a ground floor as well as two bedrooms upstairs. There isn't really a living room.

In order to design their "home", this couple wants to have an extension made there to create a master bedroom and a lounge area while carrying out a complete redevelopment of the existing one. We keep the walls and the roof, we break the rest and we start again. Raw concrete on the facade. Inside a lot of light, waxed concrete on the floor and wood.

In order to prevent the extension from being stuck to the existing one, it was decided to install a raw concrete wall, thus creating an identity, a presence. The installation of the glass roof between the existing and the concrete sheet allows to bring the morning light and to offer a hollow place. Thus the two spaces (existing and extension) exist independently of each other while offering continuity. The shape of the concrete sheet is dictated by the slope of the glass roof but also by the bedroom window located in r+1 on the adjoining side. The continuity with the garden is materialized by the installation of a bay window with brick partition. The master bedroom is located at the back of the extension and has its own bathroom and dressing room. The day area (living room/living room/kitchen) has been created as a semi-open space and offers an area of 60m² (the existing one was 30m²). The staircase and the wooden mezzanine bring warmth and conviviality to this house and echo the concrete wall by offering defined but not necessarily closed spaces. The crawling ceilings bring volume to the living room.
