The Thinkroom is conceived as a collaborative workplace combined with a library — a rare typology in Gurugram, where fast-paced work culture rarely leaves space for quiet reading and reflection.
The idea was to create a workplace that balances focus and collaboration, while also offering a haven for people who enjoy reading and learning within a shared environment.
The design draws inspiration from the idea of a “Neher” (river) — and the calm rhythm you experience when sitting beside flowing water with a book. Translating this into the space, a continuous blue flooring element flows through the interior, guiding movement while subtly organizing different functional zones. Like a river, it connects the various activities within the workspace.
The lower level houses an open coworking environment centered around a collaborative zone that encourages informal interaction, meetings, and shared work culture. Flexibility was a key driver in the planning. A folding conference room partition allows the space to expand easily, transforming the workplace into a venue for workshops, talks, and community gatherings without disrupting everyday work.
Above, a mezzanine level introduces a quieter reading library overlooking the coworking floor. This vertical relationship creates a dialogue between active collaboration below and focused learning above, allowing both atmospheres to coexist within a compact footprint.
Within this layout, the workspace accommodates a range of environments including open workstations, collaboration areas, meeting rooms, phone booths, a pantry, and a dedicated reading library.
Through flexibility, openness, and layered spatial experiences, The Thinkroom reimagines the contemporary coworking space as a learning ecosystem — a place where work, conversation, and reading flow together naturally.
