The house is designed as a two-level volume that faces the lagoon and beach front of the condominium. The first level, containing the entrance, parking, and private bedroom area, is visually below the boardwalk level and is conceived as a solid concrete base that emerges from the ground. The second level, made up of the social core and master bedroom area, in contrast, is devised as a light element that rests on its base and opens towards the landscape and horizon.
The design of the house solves an ambitious 8-bedroom program by concentrating its horizontal connections at the lot´s core and arranging its private and social spaces towards the exterior. The result maximizes its exposure to the surrounding environment, taking advantage of natural light, passive ventilation and thermal control while optimizing energy consumption.
The social areas in the first and second floors are interrelated to accommodate an intense social dynamic and they open up towards the landscape.
The use of exposed materials, consistent throughout the proposal, seeks an expression that will be preserved over time with low maintenance.
