A private villa positioned on a hill overlooking the city of Pristina, designed on the opportunity to connect the simplicity of the structure with a style full of ornaments, also related with local customs.
For this project Architect Luca Gazzaniga took inspiration by the traditional rural buidings and based it on the topographical context of the land and the path of the sun.
To find the right spatial balance - in forming an artificial microlandscape of prisms, interstitial spaces - and new views of the landscape, was conducted a study for the positioning of the volumes. An irregular double-height element houses the entrance and connects the main functions of the house, contained in strongly orthogonal spaces.
Large wooden windows from the Maxima 80 collection, enhance the connection with the outdoors.
A system of motorized wood shutters - custom-made - provides solar shading to the interior spaces. The resulting play of “light and shadow” accentuates the perception of pure solids, which create, with wood, a warm and domestic atmosphere.
Three pavilions located in the park, reflect the local wooden buildings: intermediate structures, between house and garden, where the family gathers together.
